Yesterday beautiful Bern was the backdrop to the Swiss circular Economy CE2 conference.
The event was packed full of amazing speakers such as Thomas Vellacott, Ian Roberts, Simonetta Sommaruga, Jason Drew, Cllr. Anna Richardson, Patrick Camele, Peter Galliker, Désirée Baer and, last but not least, Mario Torriani, the host with the most. It is so hard to say who was my favourite, just as bad as choosing from a box of Swiss chocolates.
Although the event was primarily set for the local German speaking audience, in a great Swiss tradition, live translations were provided.
So many takeaways… For me, the one to mention is that Sustainability and Circularity are not just new buzz words; they instigate amazing capitalist ventures that simultaneously can positively impact today's AND tomorrow’s quality of life.
The winner of the day was Futuricum, the e-trucking solution that took away the Green Business Aware of 2021. Many congratulations for their innovative approach to creating high powered e-trucking solution; reducing the CO2 emission from 200t to 35t per truck per year!
However, we should not forget the runner ups, Kern & Wingtra for coming joint second. Many congratulations. I can’t wait to hear more of your future success stories.
I encountered SO many incredible and innovative initiatives on the day. No wonder Switzerland has stayed at the number one position in innovation for more than ten years in a row!
What a privilege to be part of such an outstanding community.
They say it takes a village to raise a child.
I think it takes us ALL, with our diverse beliefs, objectives and interests to build a Global Circular and Sustainable Economy.
Demand a better future,
